Exposing lies from anti-immigrant fanatic Elise Marciano is TOO easy

There she goes lying again.

A few weeks ago, I attended a co-called health care protest in front of Congressman Chris Murphy's office on Main Street, which was organized by a group that calls themselves the United States Citizens for Immigration and Law Enforcement (USCFILE).

For those who don't know, USCFILE is a local anti-immigrant, extremist, hate group that has a long history of spreading lies and misinformation regarding the issue of immigration in the Greater Danbury area. Although I'll write in more detail about the history of this organization, and it's political ties in Danbury, I want to take a moment and respond to a comment made about yours truly from the president of this hate group, Elise Marciano.

Equally as troubling as the USCFILE's track record of spreading misinformation and lies, is their long history of intimidation, taunts, and threats towards members of immigrant community and their supporters.

…and during their "rally" a couple of weekends ago, I became their latest target.

Although I won't go into the explicit details of the threat as this is now a police matter, I do want to shed light on comments made from the leader of this band of misfits and expose her lying ways.

When questioned by the News-Times about the incident, here's what Marcaino had to say.

It's purely made up. Most people don't even know what he drives and didn't even know he was there. This was made up by Al Robinson because he is trying to discredit us.

As you'll see, when it comes to discrediting her organization, Marciano does a good job at doing just that all on her own.

Here's a picture I took of ALL THE MEMBERS of Marciano's group who attended the protest.

IMG_4477

As you can see, in order for me to take that photo, I needed to be positioned directly across the street from their event.

Now, here's an interactive Google Map that shows the location of USCFILE's rally. If you click on hold on the image, you can turn the map around and see see where I was positioned with my cameras (right in front of the dollar store).

Since Marciano and her goon squad know that I'm not their biggest fan, and that I'm positioned RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from their rally, this photo sort of pokes a hole in Marciano's claim that "most people…didn't even know he was there."

Wait, wait, it gets better.

When it comes to blogging, I'm known for my video work telling my story…and when it comes to lies from Marciano and her ilk, lets just say that I'll get my footage do the talking…

Hmm..lets see. Members of USCFILE giving me the thumbs up, requesting that I videotape their lovely signs, looking directly in the direction of my camera, and, in the case of Marciano, waving at me.

Yet, Marciano said this...

Marciano_Lie

When it comes to Marciano being nothing more than a discredited serial liar, I think I proved my point.

...to be continued.

Who's watching the store?

Monday, April 05, 2010
Time: 11:03 AM

While facing one of the toughest budget presentations in recent memory tomorrow, here's a sneak peek into the mayor's schedule for today...
CROMWELL — Seven Republican candidates for governor are scheduled to present their qualifications for the party’s nomination at a candidate forum tonight.

Republican Town committee Chairman Enzo Faienza said the town committee is hosting the forum at the middle school auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

Funny how Boughton has found time to attend yet another gubernatorial forum seeing that this is the same person who's was too busy to debate Gary Goncalves in a FREE and OPEN debate last year.

In light of the possibility of the school board being forces to eliminate 90 positions if the mayor gives a zero increase to the education budget, when it comes to the mayor's hectic gubernatorial schedule, it makes you wonder who's been watching the store...for the last couple of months.

THE CASE AGAINST JOHN MCGOWAN: Anti-immigrant activist receives Fairfield County Weekly CLOWN O METER top honors for court antics

Saturday, April 03, 2010
Time: 3:42 PM

The John McGowan court case trainwreck continues...

This week, the Fairfield County Weekly bestowed the former mayoral candidate, and former United States Citizens for Immigration and Law Enforcement vice president with the CLOWN O METER top honors for his pseudo-law defense in his court case.

Opting to defend himself without legal counsel, McGowan, who's facing a possible maximum sentence of 20 years if convicted on first degree sexual assault charges, has really embarrassed himself with his laundry list of bizarre accusations.

Here's what the Weekly had to say about the darling of Danbury's anti-immigrant movement...

McGowan's next appearance in court is scheduled for July 7 at 9:30 AM.

Charity hockey game THIS SATURDAY!

Time: 8:21 AM

Post bumped to the top

On Saturday April 3rd, Danbury Fire and Police departments will face off at a charity hockey game at the Ice Arena.

The game has grown in popularity over the years and organizers predict that this year's event will be the biggest yet.
The Danbury Police Department, led by Team Captain, Sergeant John Krupinsky, will be playing for the Law Enforcement Survivor’s Fund. This charity ensures that the widows and children of Officers killed in the line of duty are taken care of and not forgotten.

The Danbury Fire Department, led by Team Captain, Lieutenant Jamie Schiller, will be playing for two charities. The first charity is the Connecticut Children’s Burn Camp, which is a free-week long summer camp that provides activities for children who have suffered varying degrees of burn injuries. The second is the Companions in Courage Foundation, which was founded by NHL Hall of Famer, Pat LaFontaine. This Foundation also helps children by building interactive “fun rooms” in children’s hospitals all across America.

“Public Power is honored to have the opportunity to sponsor such a worthwhile charitable event. Since opening our doors just over two years ago in Danbury, CT our goal has been to help Connecticut residents and businesses save money on their electricity bill. With our continued growth, we now have the opportunity to help many other organizations by getting involved with great charitable causes like this hockey game. We hope that all of our Public Power customers will embrace this cause and turn out for this great evening of hockey. As an added bonus to the game, we are extremely excited to announce that NHL Hall of Famer, Stanley Cup Champion and Public Power spokesman, Phil Esposito will be on hand to meet and greet everyone during the pre-game festivities. He will also attend the game and serve as the evening’s “Guest of Honor”. We look forward to a great evening of hockey and getting the opportunity to meet with as many fans as possible” said Public Power’s CEO, Bob Gries.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m.; pre-game ceremonies begin at 4:45 p.m.; and the puck drops at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door, $10 for adults, and children 5 years and under are free! On behalf of all the charities and sponsors involved we thank you in advance for your support of this great evening.

Here's the latest on the Joe DaSilva trial (via News-Times):
Several motions seeking to suppress statements and other alleged evidence against local landlord Joseph DaSliva Jr. have been filed in Superior Court.

At least four motions have been filed in the case by DaSilva's attorney, Eugene Riccio. One of the motions seeks to suppress any and all statements that DaSilva made to police.

The motion states that any statements the landlord made were not made voluntarily, were made without the benefit of council and were "the product of an illegal detainment and custody."

I'll post copies of the motions later...

2012 EDUCATION BUDGET TIMELINE
COMING SOON!!!

Picture 6 trans_button On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of day laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.

The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.

Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.

Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
