With the exception of Danbury Democratic Town Committee's current chairman Larry Reifberg, historically, opposition towards four-year terms for elected officials in Danbury was vehemently opposed by people who led the local Democratic Party, as well as every elected official who held office at the time of the charter dispute (2007-2009).
From the HatCityBLOG archives, here's footage of two former chairmen of the local Democrats who spoke out in extreme opposition to four-year terms during the last charter revision process in 2009 when Republicans held the majority status in the city.
