All of Danbury is up in arms with the traffic concerns created by the opening of Elmer's Diner. This weekend, my inbox was full of complaints from angry residents fuming over the foreseen traffic nightmare the diner has created due to it's idiotic location on Padanaram Road.
I've been working hard on the case and I'll provide a full report on the latest developments, including people leaving the diner who are making U-turns in the middle of Padanaram Road, very soon. SOMEONE HAS A GREAT DEAL OF EXPLAINING TO DO.
UPDATE 5/22: The situation gets worse. I personally witnessed two accidents almost happen (including one where a truck locked up its brakes right to the side of me) and I have it all on videotape. The place should be shut down based on the saftey concerns alone.
I'm working very hard on this story from many angles including the origins of the approval of thie property, (which isn't as black and white as the mayor would have you believe). My heart goes out to those who live by this nightmare and if something is not done soon, it's only a matter of time until someone gets hit by a car.

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.
The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.
Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.
Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
