Ahh...I finally finished archiving all my old video from my harddrive which means I can FINALLY get back to producing my footage from the Taste of Danbury. You see, I went a little nuts at theTaste and recorded over two hours of video which I have to edit and get down to about 15 minutes and trust me, that takes a good amount of time.

I promise I'll get the video up since the event was such a HUGE success. There were several vendors at the Taste that took time out of their schedule to be interviewed and I REALLY want to make sure they get a big plug.

Why wan't this stuff posted earlier? Well, if you don't know, I cover a lot of state politics and with election day right around the corner, I'll be on the road a lot covering all the races. In other words, I won't have much time to do original content here for awhile which stinks since I've been working hard on re-designing this site.

Never fear, you won't even notice that I'm gone as I'll keep this site updated as much as possible.

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.

The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.

Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.

Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
