Traffic in Danbury is at a snail's pace and people are driving like they just received their driving license yesterday.

At 5:15 p.m., state police in Southbury report numerous accidents in both directions of Interstate 84 between Southbury and the New York border.
Police are responding to an incident on Pleasant Street, a steep hill in Danbury apparently covered in ice.
Despite forecasts from the National Weather Service pegging the chance of snow at 30 percent, about a half-inch had already collected on streets in downtown Danbury by about 3:30 p.m., where traffic had slowed to a crawl on Main Street.
Accidents have been reported throughout the area, in Danbury at Triangle and Byron streets and in Newtown at the intersection of Main and Sugar streets, both occurring about 3:30 p.m. By 3:45 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to another accident in Newtown, at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road, and another in Danbury on Beaver Brook Road.
After 4 p.m. more accidents were being reported throughout the area. In Danbury a crash was reported on Brushy Hill Road, and about 4:25 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a report of a disabled school bus on Lime Kiln Road in Redding near Route 53. Snowfall had eased considerably to flurries by about 5:15 p.m. in downtown Danbury.

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.
The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.
Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.
Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
