Elmer's Diner, of 22 Padanaram Rd., scored a 86 out of a possible 100 points during a reinspection. The eatery was cited for inadequate and improper handwashing by an employee, poor food handling practice, poor hygienic practice and inadequate sanitizer concentration. It was issued a closure warning and is awaiting reinspection.
Eateries are allowed reinspection after an initial inspection failure. If the eatery fails that reinspection, it is given a closure warning and inspected again. If the eatery then fails that inspection it is ordered to be closed by the city health director.
So let me get this straight.
A cook does a number two in the bathroom, uses "poor hygienic practice," and proceeds to make my Ruben sandwich...then, I place my life at risk by darting across the street because there are too few parking spots at the god-awful diner.
Aw, no thank you.
