For those who say there isn't anything happening in terms of entertainment in Danbury, City Center and Union Savings Bank begs to differ.

Grab your blanket and picnic basket – CityCenter Danbury’s Summer Nights Concerts on the Green kicks off this Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. with a family concert by The Barons, who will perform hits from the 1950s. Children’s activities will take place before the concert, starting at 6 p.m.
The free concert series, sponsored by Union Savings Bank of Danbury, runs through August 23 and includes Thursday evening family concerts, Friday evening performances by well-known local artists and Saturday evening multi-cultural shows.
Returning for the second time, The Barons are here to bring the people of all ages together. Oldsters will reminisce with their favorite tunes from the 50’s; youngsters will appreciate the musical purity that makes the oldies a timeless genre.
Also Thursdays are Family Nights and there will be lots of activities for the children before and during the show!
Scooby Doo, courtesy of Noah's Arc Animal Hospital and the Tooth Fairy, courtesy of Dental Associates will both be visiting the Green that evening.
Activities begin at 6:00 and the concert begins at 6:30.

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.
The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.
Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.
Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
