I've been inundated with emails and messages from people requesting me to post the video from the Board of Education Budget presentation. For those not in the know, the School's budget takes up the lion's share of the overall city's budget. Due to the current economic climate, and the possibility of state funding being reduced, and the proposed salary increase, there has been increased interest in this particular budget presentation.
For those who missed the footage of the presentation when it was broadcasted on Thursday, here's the video in it's entirety (aprox. 2 hours).
NOTE: Due to the length of the video (2 hours!!),I STRONGLY recommend that you download the video from YouTube and save it to your own computer. If you don't know how download files from YouTube, please follow these REALLY simple steps:
1. Copy the URL of the Youtube file (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGUp9K9XVr8).
2. Go to the following website, paste the URL in the input box, select which format you would like the file exported, and press the "start" button.
3. Presto! You now have a copy of the video which you can view anytime on your computer, iPod, AppleTV, Blackberry, or iPhone.
If you want a copy of the video in a higher resolution that you watch on your computer or TV, just email me and I'll send you a copy (I'm not making this available to everyone at this time because it's a REALLY large file).

In order to give people a better understanding of the type of individual Mayor Boughton and the Republican Town Committee appointed to fill the 2nd Ward Common Council seat formerly held by Jim Johnson, a little backtracking on Mike Halas is in order.
First AND PRIMARY on my agenda will be exposing the remarkably arrogant, inappropriate and disgusting behavior exhibited by Halas andhis goon squad supporters of his business during one of the most out-of-control Zoning Commission meetings I've ever seen in my years of following politics in Danbury. Lets just say that if you witnessed what I saw from at that meeting (and afterwards outside of City Hall), you would be shocked to hear that ANYONE would think that Halas would be on ANYONE'S list for that seat.
The following post, which will give you a bit of background on what led up to the highly inappropriate behavior from Halas and his group at the Zoning Commission meeting was originally posted on April 21 2008.
I originally posted the flyer opposing the Halas Farm proposal two weeks ago. Since then, lets just say that In my years of following Danbury politics, I've never seen such a chain of inappropriate events than what I saw at the last Zoning Commission meeting.
Over the next series of posts, I will examine what happened at the last meeting, including the OUTRAGEOUS and highly offensive actions of freshman commissioner Andrew Wettmore, which in itself should be grounds for him to recuse himself from voting on this proposal.
For now, I'm lets just start with portion of my larger interview with activist Ken Gucker on his opposition to the proposal. TAKE NOTE OF THE DATE OF THIS INTERVIEW AND THE CONDITION OF THE PARCEL OF LAND...I'll explain later.
NOTE: Below is a copy of the letter from Zoning Enforcement officer Sean Hearty to Halas Farm about the gross misuse of the parcel of land in question. This letter triggered the eventual cease and desist notification against Halas Farm that Gucker referenced in the clip.

Tomorrow starts the next chapter in Halas Farm's request the Zoning Commission to allow them to use a parcel of land (aprox. marked in yellow) zoned as an RA-40 (residential) for commercial purposes...and some residents aren't happy about it.
