Public backlash to Gaza op-ed results in calls for Majority Legislative Leader Andrea Gartner's resignation

Public backlash to Majority Legislative Leader Andrea Gartner's recent OP-ED was on display at last night's meeting of the City Council chambers as residents now call for the Majority Leader's resignation and the censure of the other eight Democrats who signed the letter that has been characterized as being insensitive, anti-Israeli, and inappropriate in using her capacity of an elected official in authoring the writing.
Here's video footage of the most damming public commentary against Gartner's piece from resident Jeffrey Berlant.
"From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!"

Outraged residents have reached out to me, provided timestamps of footage of the March 16th "Danbury Stands with Palestine" rally, and requested that I make a video highlight of the clip of the controversial commentary at the event.
Upon request, here’s a copy of the printed version of Andrea Gartner’s letter, which is being loudly denounced as being anti-Israeli, along with the names of the members of the council who signed the letter in agreement.

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.
The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.
Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.
Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
