Punch drunk Jean

Friday, October 08, 2010
Time: 8:59 PM

The video of our incompetent City Clerk Jean Natale speaks for itself...

I guess Jean probably had a long day doing weddings on City Hall time and couldn't resist looking like an ass for the camera. But what do you expect from an individual who's comfortable with skinheads, rarely in her office and is roundly criticized for her god-awful performance record.

...just another day in Danbury under Mark Boughton's dictatorship.

Journalism returns to Bethel!

Time: 2:43 PM

Years after the fall of the their local newspaper, residents of Bethel have reason to celebrate.Patch

This week the online news outlet Bethel Patch. Here's the details on the new place for local news:
Patch will update you on Bethel news, sports, arts and more. It also gives you the ability to upload your own events and announcements, find local businesses using our free directory and have discussions about local issues by commenting on stories. You can also continue the conversation by interacting with Patch on Facebook and Twitter.

Overall, I'm excited to bring Patch to Bethel because it provides users with online news that mixes exciting new media methods with traditional journalism ethics and practices.

Hoping to give the News-Times a run for their money, the freelance crew at the Bethel Patch is set to fill the journalism void that's plagued the town over the last couple of years...and don't be surprised to see my name in a byline from time to time.

...and don't worry, the Patch is set to open shop in Danbury and bring back some LONG OVERDUE reporting to Hat City REAL soon.

Democrats call out Boughton for appearing at anti-immigrant/extremist rallies

Monday, October 04, 2010
Time: 3:31 PM

Mark Boughton at Bob MacGuffie's tea party event in Hartford last Saturday and embraces anti-immigrant hate-group leader Elise Marciano at her event two weeks ago

It seems like Boughton's past is finally catching up with him.

Today, the Connecticut Democrats issued the following statement regarding Mark Boughton's appearances at Elise Marciano's anti-immigrant hate-group rally as well as Saturday's teabagger rally at the Capitol hosted by town hall harassment specialist Bob McDuffie.

via CTDems:
On September 25, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton spoke at a rally sponsored by the Danbury-based anti-immigration group United States Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement (USCFILE). This past Saturday, Boughton spoke at the “Drain the Swamp” rally, organized by Tea Party Patriot Bob MacGuffie. MacGuffie was responsible for last summer’s widely circulated memo, which suggested people attending town hall meetings artificially inflate their numbers, “rock the boat early” and “shout out” the Representative, in an attempt to “rattle” him or her. USCFILE favors, among other things, repealing the 14th Amendment and making English the official language of the United States. In addition, USCFILE’s president, Elise Marciano, has made more than a few controversial statements, including this bombshell about President Obama on Danbury Public Access television:

MARCIANO: “He’s not going to a Christian church. As President of the United States, he’s not going to a Christian church, even though he claims that the Reverend Wright’s church was Christian. How do you figure that? I’ll tell you why – because he was brought up as a Muslim, and he is a Muslim and they cannot go back on their religion.”

Marciano emceed USCFILE’s event on September 25, introducing Mayor Boughton, which was followed by warm handshake between the two.

“You can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep,” said Democratic State Party Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo. “Certainly there are people concerned with the direction of our state and country, and they deserve to be part of our dialogue on the issues. But why would Mark Boughton agree to associate and campaign with people who are openly attempting to use intimidation and fear to prove their point? These were political stops for Mark – he spoke about his campaign, and that of his running mate, Tom Foley. He was asking for their support in November. What does Tom Foley have to say about his campaign asking groups like this for their support? The rhetoric and tactics Mr. MacGuffie and Ms. Marciano have used degrade our political process and do nothing to further an honest dialogue about the important issues that face the state. Mark Boughton and Tom Foley owe the people of this state an explanation.”

For someone who claimed that he wouldn't associate with anti-immigrant groups, Boughton is taking his lying to new levels...thankfully someone other than me is paying attention...

Time: 3:15 PM

Elise Marciano expressing her "concern" with Ted Comsumptus regarding identifying her race in the census:
Senior Center Jan 2010./

In order to truly understand why just about everyone in the state should be outraged over Mark Boughton’s unreported appearance at the United States Citizens for Immigration Enforcement (USCFILE) anti-immigrant hate group rally this past Saturday, you need to learn a thing or two about these disgusting group of misfits.

Since we're already saw USCFILE president Elise Marciano's racist Islamophobic side, here's an audio clip of the anti-immigrant bigot questioning Mayor Boughton's mouthpiece Ted Comsumptus about an "issue" she has with the census when it comes to identifying her race. This laughable exchange happened during the mayor's monthly public meeting at the Senior Center back in January.

Take note of the people who laugh at Marciano's idiotic question.

MARCIANO: Suppose we don't put down our race?

CONSUMPTUS: Ah, I think there are options for you not to fill in each question, and they can account for that. But what's the…I don't' see the problem with putting down…

MARCAINO: I'm an American..

COMSUMPTUS: .what your race is

MARCIANO (yelling): I'm an American!

MARCAINO: So I'm just going to put American.

COMSUMPTUS: You know, there may be that option, I'm not..I don't know what the option is…we'll see.

You cant make this stuff up folks.

Why on earth would anyone vote for a politician who embrace and support an anti-immigrant assclown like Marciano?

On September 26, 2007, ten plaintiffs filed suit in response to an arrest of aday laborers at a public park in Danbury, Connecticut. Plaintiffs amended their complaint on November 26, 2007.

The amended complaint states that plaintiffs sought to remedy the continued discriminatory and unauthorized enforcement of federal immigration laws against the Latino residents of the City of Danbury by Danbury's mayor and its police department.

Plaintiffs allege that the arrests violated their Fourth Amendment rights and the Connecticut Constitution because defendants conducted the arrests without valid warrants, in the absence of exigent circumstances, and without probable cause to believe that plaintiffs were engaged in unlawful activity. In addition, plaintiffs allege that defendants improperly stopped, detained, investigated, searched and arrested plaintiffs. Plaintiffs also allege that defendants violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights when they intentionally targeted plaintiffs, and arrested and detained them on the basis of their race, ethnicity and perceived national origin. Plaintiffs raise First Amendment, Due Process and tort claims.

Plaintiffs request declaratory relief, damages and attorneys fees.
